SEAToday.com, Paris - Gabriel Attal was named the next France’s Prime Minister on Tuesday (1/9) making him the country’s youngest-ever PM at 34 years old.
Attal was appointed following the resignation of his predecessor, Elisabeth Borne, on Monday (1/8), following recent political turmoil over an immigration law that strengthens the government’s ability to deport foreigners. France's President Emmanuel Macron is also seeking a fresh image for the rest of his term amid growing political pressure from the far right.
Attal is currently France’s Education Minister. He came to widespread attention in France as the government spokesman during the COVID-19 pandemic.
