SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Istiqlal Mosque will slaughter sacrificial animals on Tuesday (6/18). Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Nasaruddin Umar, said on Sunday (6/16) that the meat will be distributed to a number of points and there will be no direct distribution to residents in the Istiqlal Mosque area. For this reason, the public is advised not to come to Istiqlal Mosque if they expect to receive qurbani meat.
The distribution of the meat will be carried out through Istiqlal Mosque's stakeholders, including mosques, orphanages, dormitories, and Quran memorization centers. There are at least 30,000 points that will receive Qurbani meat from Istiqlal Mosque.
Nasaruddin said his party was still accepting submissions of sacrificial animals until Monday (6/17). As of Sunday (6/16), at least 45 cows and 12 goats had been received.
