SEAToday.com, Central Sulawesi - PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), located in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, has given a compensation of 600 million rupiah to each of the victims who died due to the explosion of the smelter furnace of PT Indonesia Tsingshan Stainless Steel (ITSS) on Sunday (12/24).
In a written statement on Tuesday (12/26), Media Relations Head of PT IMIP, Dedy Kurniawan, said that the compensation will be handed over symbolically to representatives of the heirs of the victims' families. As for the injured (non-fatality), compensation will be given according to their respective cases.
The victims who died due to this explosion are 18 people, of whom 10 were Indonesian workers and 8 were foreign workers from China.
Currently, the authorities are investigating the occupational safety and health system at the scene.
