SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian football legend Ismed Sofyan announced his retirement on Saturday (2/3) after a 25-year career in professional football.
Prior to his retirement, Ismed Sofyan played for Persija Jakarta for 21 years and then moved to FC Bekasi for one season.
Through his personal Instagram account (@ismedsofyan14), he thanked his family, Persija Jakarta, FC Bekasi and Jakmania for always supporting him during his career.
In his post caption, he also quoted a sentence from Argentine footballer Lionel Messi: "Because when I retire from football, I just want to be known as a good person, not the best player".
