SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta Health Agency will introduce paid COVID-19 vaccinations starting January 1, 2024. This was confirmed by Jakarta Health Agency Head Ani Ruspitawati on Wednesday (12/27). Ani said the paid COVID-19 vaccine applies to the injection of all doses of the vaccine. However, there are certain groups that are exempt from the vaccination fees, such as the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

Even so, her party does not yet know the details of the cost of each dose of vaccine. So far, the health department is waiting for the mechanism and technical services from the Health Ministry. Ani is making sure that the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine is still sufficient. She urged the public to vaccinate immediately against COVID-19 to prevent a spike in cases during the year-end period.

Siti Nadia Tarmizi, Health Ministry Communication and Public Service Head, said the paid vaccines would be available in a number of brands that have received distribution permits from the National Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM).
