SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) will expand the low emission zone (LEZ) to improve air quality in the capital city, said DLH Head Asep Kuswanto, Saturday (1/20).
Asep explained that the LEZ expansion was based on a Governor Decree regarding Air Pollution Control Strategy which regulates the study, one of which is low emission zones. This area will prioritize the principle of inclusiveness so that the citizens can enjoy the maximum benefits. In order to make it happen, DLH will collaborate with the Jakarta Transportation Agency by observing the daily mobility needs of citizens, factoring the comfort, health and safety of the users.
Currently, Jakarta has two low-emission zones located in the Kota Tua area and Tebet Eco Park as models.
