SEAToday.com, Guwahati-Twelve passengers were injured after a Myanmar military plane overshot a runway while landing at Lengpui Airport, Guwahati, India.

Myanmar military plane was sent over to India to collect soldiers who had fled when fighting the insurgents for the Myanmar junta.

Local news aired footage of the crash's aftermath, where the aircraft had slid down an embankment, revealing the bent body of the transport plane, in Lengpui Airport.

Moreover, according to officials, the crash left four out of the twelve passengers seriously injured. It was mentioned that eight crew members sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment.

The Chinese-made aircraft was intended to send the final group of 276 soldiers to Myanmar, who escaped to India last week and avoid an armed insurgent advance. Furthermore, the Junta of Myanmar stated that engine failure caused the crash during landing at the airport. (ANDIN/ALVIN)
