SEAToday.com, North Maluku - Mount Dukono in North Maluku erupted again on Wednesday (1/3). The Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG) reported that this time the eruption occurred at 6:52 a.m local time, spewing ash as high as 4,000 meters.

People and visitors around Mt. Dukono are advised to refrain from activities, climbing, and approaching the Malupang Warirang crater within a three-kilometer radius. In addition, people are also advised to wear masks to avoid the danger of volcanic ash on the respiratory system.

Earlier, Mount Dukono also erupted on Friday (12/29). PVMBG continues to monitor the activity of Mount Dukono visually and instrumentally from the observation post located in Mamuya Village, Galela District, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province.
