SEAToday.com, Bojonegoro - After previously successfully conducting the first injection of CO2 in the Jatibarang Field, PT Pertamina again implemented Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology at Pertamina EP Sukowati Field in Bojonegoro, East Java, on Thursday (12/7).
500 tons of CO2 were injected using the Huff & Puff method for seven days in the hope of increasing field production through the application of CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Pertamina's SVP of Research and Technology Innovation, Oki Muraza, emphasized that the implementation of this injection can provide confirmation and validation of specific EOR technology.
Oil and Gas Director General of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Tutuka Ariadji, welcomed Pertamina's implementation of CCUS technology. He considered that Indonesia has great potential in the field of CCUS.
