Queen of Tears Sets New Record  for tvN Highest-Rated Korean Drama

SEAToday.com, Seoul-Korean drama Queen of Tears officially became tvN's highest-rated drama ever, achieving the record after its final episode aired on Sunday (4/28) local time.

According to Nielsen Korea data, the final episode starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won scored a rating of 24.8 percent. This rating surpasses the previous record holder, Crash Landing On You, which reached 21.6 percent.

The success of "Queen of Tears" stemmed from consistent and impressive ratings in the double-digit range from episode four to episode 16. Notably, the drama's ratings reached over 20 percent for the last five episodes, culminating in a new record on its finale.

With the achievement of Queen of Tears, now the top 5 tvN dramas are:

  1. Queen of Tears with a rating of 24.8 per cent
  2. Crash Landing on You with a rating of 21.6 per cent
  3. Goblin with 20.5 per cent rating
  4. Reply 1988 with 19 per cent rating
  5. Mr. Sushine with 18.8 per cent rating.

The drama Queen of Tears features veteran actor Kim Soo Hyun and actress Kim Ji Won. The story is about a couple's married life that is on the verge of collapse, complete with the intrigue of a wealthy family drama fighting for power and a series of other problems that successfully make the audience carried away by emotions.
