SEAToday.com, Tashkent - Indonesian weightlifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah set a new world record and won three gold medals at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Uzbekistan on Tuesday (2/6). Rahmat Erwin competed in the 73-kilogram category and managed to bring home three gold medals from the snatch, clean and jerk and total.
In the snatch Erwin achieved the best lift with 159 kilograms. Erwin also won gold in the clean and jerk with a total of 204 kilograms. This was a new world record for Erwin, the previous record was 202 kilograms. Erwin can lift a total of 363 kilograms.
Apart from Erwin, Rizki Juniansyah also had a good performance, winning three silver medals in the snatch, clean and jerk with a total of 353 kg.
