SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Taufan Mokoginta from Surabaya, won the 2023 World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) at the Taiwan International Coffee Show in Taipei on Sunday (11/19). Taufan beat 20 other competitors, including representatives from Turkey, the United States, and Japan in the final.
Previously, Taufan participated in three competitions in 2022 and 2023, twice in the Roaster category and once in the Barista category. Taufan's victory in the WCRC championship was Indonesia's first victory in winning first place in the world coffee event. This achievement is a determination of the success of Indonesian coffee in the world market.
