SEAToday.com, Astana - Three Indonesian students won silver medals each in the 35th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan, which concluded on Saturday (15/7) evening local time.
The silver medals were won by Aaron Christian Endrij (SMAK BPK Gading Serpong), Keisha Rochelline Simorangkir (SMAN 8 Jakarta) and Erlangga Dief Putra Hamam (SMA Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah). Meanwhile, another Indonesian representative, Samuel Cristian (SMAN 19 Jakarta), has yet to win a medal. The participants completed two parts of the test, namely practical and theoretical tests.
This event was attended by 249 students from 78 countries, as well as 261 judges who played a role in judging, maintaining the quality of the tested tests and ensuring the implementation of activities ran smoothly and prioritized the spirit of fair play.
Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Fadjroel Rachman, who attended the 35th IBO Medal Ceremony, said he was proud of the students' achievements. Rachman said that Indonesia has no shortage of great talents who are ready to compete in the international arena.
