SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo has signed Presidential Decree No. 20/P on the honorable dismissal of Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.
The information was conveyed by Special Presidential Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana on Friday (2/2).
In addition, the President also appointed Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian as Acting Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.
Previously, Mahfud MD had submitted his resignation letter to President Joko Widodo on Friday (2/1). The decision is a commitment to maintain independence and conflict of interest in the 2024 presidential election.
