SEAToday.com, New York - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres meets with major donors to the UN agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) at UN headquarters in New York, on Tuesday (1/30).
Several countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Finland and Japan have suspended their funding due to Israeli allegations of the UN agency's staff that were involved in the October 7 attack.
The Israeli accusations came as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday (1/26) issued an interim ruling on South's Africa demands urging Israel to stop obstructing aid deliveries into Gaza and to improve the humanitarian situation.
Previously, UNRWA employed more than 13,000 people in Gaza and 12 of them were accused by Israel of participant in the attack. UNRWA has also terminated contracts of its employees and conducted investigations into the accusations.
